OVERFLOW INTERVIEW By. D.Raida Pack

FIRST OFF WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR TAKING TIME OUT TO DO THIZ RAIDA PACK INTERVIEW. WHY DONT YOU GIVE PEOPLE A LITTLE HISTORY ABOUT YOUR CAREER SO FAR, FOR THOSE THAT DONT KNOW.

OVERFLOW: I been rappin for a minute now, started making my own beats and producing in 97' and decided to attend AIS.
It's there where I began meeting industry people and really getting involved with this music professionally, than I moved to Charlotte
in hopes to further my career in the Hip-Hop active SouthEast market (Atl).  Now I'm about to drop my first full lenght album independenty,
recorded in house with a variety of dope producers and musicians.

WHEN AND WHAT MADE YOU GET INTO THIZ MUZIC THING-THING?

OVERFLOW: The emotion in the product.  The passion that artists express in their songs, I had to be a part of that.  I was always sort of shy and not outspoken-so this music was my way to express and get people to listen to me.  It's timeless man, you say something on record, prove a point-and it's there forever-nobody gonna take that away.

WHAT WOULD YOU FEEL INSPIREZ YOUR PROJECTZ WHEN YOU SIT
DOWN TO BLAZE NEW ISH?

OVERFLOW: The moment, the beat.  I write all my lyrics after the beat now, I used to just write and write than pick stuff out for certain beats. Now I really try to disect each beat individually and find my pockets and breaks and flip the bitch-stand out.

WHAT IZ YOUR LATEST PROJECT? AND HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE
PROJECT AS FAR AS PRODUCTION, FLOW AND TEXT? AND WHAT IS YOUR FAV. TRACK ON
IT?

OVERFLOW: Man, my current project is "Just Begun To Begin" and I've been working on it for over 2 years now.  The production is bannanna's man-solid music bro,
an underground release with a major sound-for real.  It's mostly produced by myself and Shannon Wright, Shannon has been around and is very talented.
He's worked with Usher, Joe, Jermain Dupri, Dave Hollister, Stone Creek Productions (Boyz II Men), ect, ect...His most recent influence was on the new
Angie Stone project, and even working with Marley Marl.  I also got the Lab Techs on a couple of hot joints, they got that Atlanta funk w/a hint of W. Coast,
perfect for my flows.  I gotta say though, my favorite tracks are "Tha Real", and "Flagz" which were both produced and arranged by me.  Those there are just raw,
expression over that simple and affective hip-hop sound.  "Flagz" has a live guitar on it too, and I love that-some ol' tear your heart out your chest solo's-feel me?

HOW CAN OUR READERZ GET A COPY OF YOUR PROJECTZ OUT?

OVERFLOW: The album drops in June, I plan to distribute it locally first and take it from there.  I always got my website-www.overflowproductions.com
where people can hit me up for mail orders.  I'm hoping to catch a nice distro deal early on though-so I can't really speak on the availablity
right now, it's all still in the works.

WHAT ARE YOUR 5 FAVORITE HIP HOP PROJECTz OF ALL TIME?

OVERFLOW: 2pac-All Eyes On Me; Dogg Pound-Dogg Food; Tribe-Low End Theory; 8ball&MJG-In Our Lifetime Vol.1;
Outkast-Atliens.

WHAT WOULD BE YA DREAM SHOW AS FAR AS GUEST, PRODUCTION,
ETC.?

OVERFLOW: If I could get w/any producer in the game right now it'd be JD.  I've always felt everything that kat puts out,
and I respect his hustle.  I'd love to rock a JD beat with Ginuwine on the hook-no doubt, and if Pac was alive you know
I'd get him on that too.

WHAT EMCEEZ DO YOU BUMP?

OVERFLOW: Right now; that Triple Crown stuff, Byrdie, Cee-Lo, that Nas, 8ball, Jay-Z, and that new Puba a little bit.

DO YOU HAVE ANY GUEST APPERANCES OR OTHER PROJECTS IN THE
WORKz RIGHT NOW?

OVERFLOW: On my album I just got my immediate people's as far as MC'ing.  My partner Mr. Dev'Yon repping the SC outta
Atlanta though, Cin'Atra, and Nightshield on a drop.  I'm producing and dropping verses on a few tracks for the
Hostile Takeover compilation, through Nightshield Ent.  Matchstick Productions just put out their 2nd extreme snowskiing flick
in partnership with Helly Hanson; I'm on that soundtrack-dope project.  Other than that, it's all about my album right now
trying to get it out there...

WHAT DOES OVERFLOW MEAN TO YOU? WHO IS HE AS AN ARTIST? AND WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IZ HIZ STYLE?

OVERFLOW: Overflow stands for the diversity, no boundries in this music.  Reinventing my self on each new project
and remaining unpredictable but expected.  I love music, I love to be a part of great music, be it rapping, producing,
arranging, or just engineering.  I hope my style is original, people will instinctivly compare you to familiar artists but
I don't think I sound like anyone inparticular.  I'm influenced by a lot of artists.

WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO WORK WITH IN THE INDUSTRY? (DEAD OR ALIVE)

OVERFLOW: JD on the beats, and also Ant Banks-he is the most underrated producer with nothing but heat; I love the complexity
in his beats-the live instruments in the back and all that.  I'd love to get down with Outkast on an Organized Noise track,
and I'm feeling Usher and Ginuwine on some hooks.  No doubt, above all 2pac on like a DJ Quick beat...that'd be dope!

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALz AS FAR AS THIZ INDUSTRY GOEz? WHAT ARE YOU IN IT FOR?

OVERFLOW: I just wanna be respected as a great musician, in any aspect.  I stay diversified in my talents, from rapping,
writing, producing, arranging, and engineering.  I taught myself about all the peices of the puzzle in hopes to
find my nitch and roll with that.  Right now all 5 are still working for me so I'ma stay at it.  I just wanna be
known as a musician and let that take me where it may.  I love this music thing and I'ma keep at it as long as it
continues to fullfill me.

DO YOU HAVE ANY SHOUTOUTZ TO BLAZE INTO THE CYBER WIND?

OVERFLOW: All the people who give a damn, all the people who can open their minds and respect good music for what it is, and not just if it's flashy and mainstream.  Shoutz to you and your hustle for this interview, my man Nightshield for holding me down,my man Cin'Atra and Dev'Yon, and my man Shannon and all his love and support.  The album is coming...
