E.P. INTERVIEW By. D.Raida Pack

(Interview arranged by Storm Bird and done by D.Factz for D.Raida Pack Promoz -2001)

D.RAIDA PACK: FIRST OFF WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR TAKING TIME OUT TO DO THIZ RAIDA PACK INTERVIEW. WHY DONT YOU GIVE PEOPLE A LITTLE HISTORY ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR CAREER SO FAR, FOR THOSE THAT DONT KNOW.

EP: For those that don't know about EP "Da Energy Provider", I put out my 1st Cd
"Da Product" in about January of 2000 just to get a buzz going and a get
feel for the business side of Hip Hop. It did good and opened a lot of
doors for me. I had my music played on 105.9, 91.5, 89.3, and 88.3, had
articles and interviews in the CMJ and URB magazines, Detroit News, Michigan
Citizen and City View newspapers. Let's see I've rocked numerous shows at
local clubs, in and out of state colleges and with old school cats Dougie
Fresh and Slick Rick and now school cats Goodie Mob and The Roots. I was
doing a little something, but that ain't nothing compared to what I got in
the works for the near future.

D.RAIDA PACK: WHEN AND WHAT MADE YOU GET INTO THIZ MUZIC THING-THING?

EP: I had my first taste of the "muzic thing-thing" my freshman year of high
school (Southfield High) in the talent show. Then in my senior year, I won
the talent show and I knew music and being on stage was something I really
wanted to do. After high school I went to college (Michigan State) and got
more enjoyment from rocking shows on campus then from the idea of working a
9 to 5 for 30 years, so I left in my 3rd year and decided to pursue music
seriously.

D.RAIDA PACK: WHAT WOULD YOU FEEL INSPIREZ YOUR PROJECTZ WHEN YOU SIT DOWN TO BLAZE NEW ISH?

EP: Energy and the way it's displayed through various life situations and
circumstances.

D.RAIDA PACK: WHAT IZ YOUR LATEST PROJECT? AND HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE PROJECT AS FAR AS PRODUCTION, FLOW AND TEXT? AND WHAT IS YOUR FAV. TRACK ON IT?

EP: I'm actually in the process of working on 2 new projects, one with my
brother, Mr. Caper from Assembly Line Records and the other with my partner
and producer Ironiclee, he did the beats on my last project. The project
with my brother will have more of a street appeal and the one with Ironiclee
will be more underground in nature. I feel all kinds of music and I want
that to reflect in the music I make.

D.RAIDA PACK: HOW CAN OUR READERZ GET A COPY OF YOUR PROJECTZ OUT?

EP: Well right now my last project is only available on the internet on my
website. www.mp3.com/ep

D.RAIDA PACK: DESCRIBE WHAT YOU FEEL ABOUT THE DETROIT HIP HOP MOVEMENT GOING DOWN RIGHT NOW, AND WHAT DO YOU SEE FOR DETROITz FUTURE?

EP: Everybody and they mama trying to do the rap thing now in Detroit, so it's
busy and full of versatility. Detroit can't be characterized by one style
of music, we do it all. As long as quality acts keep submerging from the D,
we'll keep the mitten on the map!

D.RAIDA PACK: HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE TRADITIONAL DETROIT HIP HOP SOUND?

EP: Street, but a lot of dope underground cats is changing that.

D.RAIDA PACK: WHAT OTHER EMCEEZ DO YOU BUMP?

EP: I bump local emceez Sun, AML, Subterraneous, N-Jeri Earth, DJ Heavy, Elzhi,
plus I make my own little mixtapes filled with songs and artists I like from
the underground and mainstream.

D.RAIDA PACK: WHAT DOES E.P. MEAN TO YOU? WHO IS SHE AS AN ARTIST? AND WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IZ HER STYLE?

EP: EP means just what it says, Da Energy Provider! I come to bring the energy,
whether it's hype bang ya head till ya neck hurt type energy or chill out,
listen to the words, thought provoking type energy. That's who I am as an
artist and that's my style...Energy!!!

D.RAIDA PACK: WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO WORK WITH IN THE INDUSTRY? (DEAD OR ALIVE)

EP: The Roots, I always wanted to rock it with a live band. Oh yeah and
Lauryn Hill 2 conscious dope female emcees on a track that'll be
dangerous...

D.RAIDA PACK: DO YOU HAVE ANY SHOUTOUTZ TO BLAZE INTO THE CYBER WIND?

EP: Shout out to you Storm Bird for doing the D. Raida Pack and being one cool dude...Aho :)
